Residential Care

Aged care that’s designed to be different.

The considered architectural design of every Oryx home is one of the key features that allow us to offer you something truly different.

In our communities you’ll live in a small household of just 10 to 14 residents within our larger home.

Each aged care room or suite is situated around a social hub which includes a dining room, kitchen, living room and fireplace, plus a balcony for the private use of your household, where you can get together with your family and friends. In your household you’ll be able to make genuine relationships within a small group of people a lot like you. And, of course, enjoy the benefits of close and continuous care.

Every Oryx home offers the following residential care services:

  • 24/7 registered nurse and care staff
  • Suites & rooms with ensuite & balcony
  • Small social hubs for dining and socialising
  • Suitable for individuals and couples
  • Chef menu prepared fresh, in-house
  • Dynamic lifestyle program available daily
  • On-site wellness centre with extensive services

In an Oryx home, you’ll have the peace of mind knowing that nursing and clinical care is there for you 24 hours a day. What’s more, we partner with experienced General Practitioners who specialise in aged care. Your personalised care is tailored to your own health needs and lifestyle goals.

Services provided by our registered nurses and care staff include:

  • Dining and eating assistance
  • Bathing and personal care support
  • Falls management
  • Pressure and wound care

To discuss your care needs, or that of a loved one, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Does Oryx offer respite care?

Yes, Oryx residential homes offer respite care.

Respite care offers residents the opportunity to gently rebuild the body and spirits in private, comfortable surroundings. While many people assume respite care is about giving a carer time off, the opposite is often the case. Respite gives the resident a chance to recuperate with specialised nursing support, a nutritionally balanced diet and access to services that boost health outcomes.

Respite residents at Oryx homes enjoy a private bedroom and ensuite, access to small communal living areas, a variety of activities, rehabilitation with onsite Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists

Respite stays vary in duration, from as little as two weeks.

Does Oryx offer specialised care for Dementia and Alzhiemer’s?

Yes, clinical & care teams at Oryx homes include memory support specialists who provide care and support for residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Initial and ongoing individual assessments are performed on each resident  and personalised care plans determine what degree of support each resident requires, allowing each resident to live as independently as possible among their neighbours.

Is GST or Stamp Duty payable on Refunded Accommodation Deposit or Daily Accommodation Payment amounts?

All Oryx homes offer a range of private suites and rooms to suite a variety of budgets; including some of Australia’s most spacious aged care accommodation options.

Our rooms and suites are designed to meet residents’ varying needs for space and accessibility, and a small number of two-bedroom options are available for couples.

How can I learn more about availability at Oryx homes?

To discuss availability contact our team on (08) 9381 2800 or book a tour to see the suites and meet our dedicated team.

Is a refund of remaining RAD funds guaranteed when a resident leaves an Oryx home?

When a resident departs, any remaining portion of their Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) must be refunded under Federal Government law.

In some cases, residents may agree for ongoing or outstanding fees to be deducted from the refundable amount before it is refunded – any arrangement of this type must be agreed to in writing in the resident’s accommodation agreement at the commencement of their permanent placement.
