Does Oryx offer a variety of care levels?

Yes, Oryx Communities is an ageing in place aged care provider, providing all levels of care from low care, right through to complex and palliative care. Oryx provides any level of support services to suit the needs of each individual resident.

Our team offers clinical and nursing care as required on a 24-hour basis, all meals, daily housekeeping and other general lifestyle support services.

Does Oryx offer respite care?

Yes, Oryx residential homes offer respite care.

Respite care offers residents the opportunity to gently rebuild the body and spirits in private, comfortable surroundings. While many people assume respite care is about giving a carer time off, the opposite is often the case. Respite gives the resident a chance to recuperate with specialised nursing support, a nutritionally balanced diet and access to services that boost health outcomes.

Respite residents at Oryx homes enjoy a private bedroom and ensuite, access to small communal living areas, a variety of activities, rehabilitation with onsite Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists

Respite stays vary in duration, from as little as two weeks.

Does Oryx offer specialised care for dementia and Alzheimer's?

Yes, clinical & care teams at Oryx homes include memory support specialists who provide care and support for residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Initial and ongoing individual assessments are performed on each resident  and personalised care plans determine what degree of support each resident requires, allowing each resident to live as independently as possible among their neighbours.

Does Oryx offer a range of accommodation styles?

All Oryx homes offer a range of private suites and rooms to suite a variety of budgets; including some of Australia’s most spacious aged care accommodation options.

Our rooms and suites are designed to meet residents’ varying needs for space and accessibility, and a small number of two-bedroom options are available for couples.

Is GST or stamp duty payable on Refundable Accommodation Deposit or Daily Accommodation Payment amounts?

No, Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) and Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) amounts are not subject to GST or stamp duty charges.

Is a refund of remaining RAD funds guaranteed when a resident exits permanent residential care at an Oryx home?

When a resident departs, any remaining portion of their Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) must be refunded under Federal Government law.

In some cases, residents may agree for ongoing or outstanding fees to be deducted from the refundable amount before it is refunded – any arrangement of this type must be agreed to in writing in the resident’s accommodation agreement at the commencement of their permanent placement.
