Intergenerational Music Event: Scotch College Performs at The Queenslea

Music has a special way of bringing generations together, and recently The Queenslea was filled with exactly that magic when a talented band from Scotch College visited to perform for our residents.

From the moment the first notes rang out, the atmosphere shifted. Residents gathered with smiles, tapping their feet and clapping along as the young musicians shared a lively and heartfelt performance. The students brought not only impressive musical skill, but also warmth, confidence, and genuine enthusiasm — something our residents immediately connected with.

The performance featured a mix of well-loved tunes and upbeat pieces, creating a program that appealed across generations. Many residents recognised songs from their younger years, sparking memories, conversation, and even a little singing along. Others simply enjoyed watching the students perform with such passion and teamwork.

Intergenerational experiences like this are incredibly valuable. They create opportunities for meaningful connection, mutual learning, and shared joy. For residents, seeing young people dedicate time to performing is uplifting and energising. For the students, it offers a chance to engage with older generations, hear stories, and see firsthand the impact their music can have.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to the students and staff from Scotch College for bringing their time, talent, and enthusiasm to The Queenslea. Their visit created a morning filled with rhythm, nostalgia, laughter, and genuine human connection — something our residents will be talking about for a long time to come.

We look forward to welcoming them back again soon. 🎶
