Daffodil Day 2025
🌼 Daffodil Day at Oryx Communities: A Time for Reflection, Connection and Hope
At Oryx Communities, Daffodil Day holds special meaning for many of our residents. As a national day of hope and a symbol of the fight against cancer, it resonates deeply with those whose lives have been touched by the disease — whether personally, through loved ones, or as caregivers over the years.
For our residents, Daffodil Day is more than a fundraiser. It’s a moment to reflect, to share memories, and to honour the people and stories that have shaped their lives. Cancer has affected nearly every Australian family, and within our communities, its impact is felt in unique and personal ways.
Lifestyle Teams Bringing Meaning to the Day
To mark this important occasion, our dedicated Lifestyle teams across The Queenslea Aged Care (Claremont, Swanbourne), The Richardson Aged Care (West Perth, Subiaco) and The Melvista Aged Care (Nedlands, Dalkeith) hosted special Daffodil Day events, including thoughtfully prepared afternoon teas that brought residents together in a warm, reflective setting.
These gatherings offered a space for conversation, remembrance, and connection. Many residents shared stories of loved ones who had faced cancer, while others simply took comfort in being surrounded by friends and staff who understand the significance of the day.
With beautiful daffodil-themed decorations, light refreshments, and a shared spirit of community, these events served as a gentle reminder of the strength and resilience that exists within our residences — and the importance of hope.
Supporting a Cause That Matters
By coming together to acknowledge Daffodil Day, our communities also supported the vital work of the Cancer Council, helping to raise awareness and funds for research, prevention, and support services.
At Oryx, we’re proud to honour days like these — not only for the cause they represent, but for the meaningful conversations and connections they inspire among our residents.
In every daffodil, we see a story of strength, compassion, and hope — and we’re proud to stand together in that spirit.
