A Scenic Outing to Lake Claremont: Trishaw Rides, Coffee, and Apple Pie

Residents at The Melvista, part of Oryx Communities, recently enjoyed a relaxed and memorable outing to Lake Claremont, combining fresh air, scenic surrounds, and shared experiences with friends.

The day began with a visit to Lake Claremont, where residents had the opportunity to take part in a trishaw ride. Sitting side-by-side in the comfortable two-seater trishaw, residents were able to enjoy the peaceful environment of the lake while being gently cycled along the paths. The experience offered a unique way to connect with the outdoors, taking in the natural beauty of the area at a relaxed pace.

Following the ride, the group made their way to the nearby Tee Box Café, a well-known local favourite. There, residents enjoyed coffee and the café’s famous apple pie — a simple but much-loved treat that rounded out the outing perfectly. Time was spent chatting, sharing stories, and enjoying each other’s company in a welcoming community setting.

Outings such as these are an important part of life at The Melvista. They support not only physical wellbeing through gentle activity and time outdoors, but also social connection, enjoyment, and a sense of independence. Experiences beyond the home environment help create variety in the week and contribute to a richer lifestyle overall.

At Oryx Communities, we believe meaningful engagement comes from both everyday activities and shared experiences in the wider community. Whether it’s a coffee by the lake, a scenic ride, or a favourite dessert enjoyed together, these moments help shape a lifestyle that is active, connected, and fulfilling.

The Lake Claremont outing was a wonderful example of this in practice — a simple day out that brought enjoyment, connection, and plenty of smiles.
